As a fashion blogger, I spend most of my time creating and styling looks and If I’m not, I’m definitely thinking about them. Over the years, the one thing I’ve always been able to rely on is my go-to accessories. From my hats to my sunglasses, jewelry, handbags, and shoes, they all help shape what was once a simple outfit into a finished look.
I believe that clothes are just not enough. Having fun and playing around with different accessories not only helps create an illusion of depth and texture to any getup, but it also lets you showcase your personality and unique style. Choosing the right accessory can either make or break an outfit, and it can be challenging.
So with Spring approaching, I thought I would share with you guys a run-down of some of my 2019 Spring/Summer fashion accessory trends, that can go with any wardrobe, to help you upgrade your looks.

1. Eyewear Trends: Oversized
With the warm weather approaching and the Sun shining, you will definitely have to start thinking about protecting those pretty eyes with some killer eyewear! This season, say goodbye to microlenses and dial it up with larger-than-life sunglasses. Gone are the days where sunglasses only cover your eyes – these babies are double the size for double the fun; not only do they protect your eyes, but they also shield your face.
For those lazy makeup days, just throw on a pair of these oversized sunnies and you’re ready to go – all while looking stylish while doing so. From colored lenses or frames to embellishments and detailing, no matter what look you’re trying to achieve there is a pair of oversized sunglasses for you.
2. Eyewear Trends: Angular
While oversized lenses are ruling the Spring and Summer sunglasses trends, angular frames are right up there too. From triangles and rectangles to diamonds and hexagons, all of these sleek slim lenses are giving that futuristic, avant-garde effect. Only the most daring of fashionistas will be sporting these beauties. Looking to go even bolder? Opt for a bright, metallic, or even a two-tone frame.

3. Hat Trend: Wide Brim
Who doesn’t love a hat, especially a big one? Big hats really add the perfect drama to any outfit; which is why wide brim hats are making the trend list this Spring given that whole Boho/Gypsy vibe we have all been loving so much. Whether it’s a straw boater hat for the beach or a felt fedora for a girl’s night out, they’re timeless favs that are sure to go with everything and will keep you looking cool! These are a definite must-have in every fashion-obsessed woman’s wardrobe!
4. Hat Trend: Berets
Oh la la! A versatile classic with French girl allure, we saw lots of them during the Winter season, and berets are still holding strong among the Spring hat trends. Whether you opt for solid colors or eye-catching patterns, they are the perfect accessory for your spring look. You can channel your inner French Girl with the perfect beret and wear it exactly the way you want; pulled back for a more grungy vibe or off to one side for an ultra-romantic look, the choice is yours!
5. Bag: Belt Bag
The fanny packs got a sophisticated makeover this spring season. Belt bags are the new hands-free fashion accessory – they have the same convenience of a fanny pack; holding and carrying things, but come in many sizes, colors, and materials, making them a lot easier to style. There are endless ways to style your belt bag, whether you prefer dressing it up with a trench coat or a dress, or simply going for a more casual look with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. Either way, the belt bag adds just the perfect touch to any outfit.
6. Bag: XXL Bag
You know what they say: the bigger the better! Fashion is really loving the over-sized trend these days, and if you’re a bag lady like me who carries a million things in her purse – including make-up, my camera, my phone, and all the essentials – well then you sure to love this extra-large bag trend. There’s nothing better than a good carry-all tote bag to win my heart over. Although oversized bags can run the risk of looking bulky and inelegant, they can totally look super stylish with the right materials, design, and details.
There are so many sizes, colors, and material options to choose from, no matter what your style there is an XXL bag for you. And if you’re on a budget, an eco-friendly jute bag would do just as well! Oh, and ladies, the best part is that a large bag can make you look thinner. It doesn’t get much better than that!
7. Shoes: Space Sneakers
Sneakers have been the footwear of choice for a while now. So no longer just simple and white, sneakers are now a staple wardrobe piece, and sure are getting some wild updates and taking a turn towards the more futuristic side. From platform heels to a mix of high-voltage color, sparkle, and metallics, these runners are no ordinary shoes. For that fierce and effortless look, try pairing a classy blouse and a feminine skirt with a clashed pair of runners – it’s sure to make a bold statement. The time has come to say goodbye to painful heels and hello to comfort.
8. Shoes: Sculptural Heels
If you really want to stay on trend this Spring, a sculptural heel is the way to go. Consider it a fashion elevation from a sneaker. Whether you’re looking for a low or high heel, bright or neutral color, or even a closed or strappy shoe, there is a structural heel for you. With this trend, it’s all about making the heel as interesting as possible. From having the heel be made of sleek spheres to dramatic hourglass shapes, these architectural or sculptural heels can dress up and add interest to any outfit. This one is by far my favorite fashion accessory trend – I just love the “more-is-more” approach, because I have never been one to keep it simple. I say just pile it all on! While there are no rules to stacking, it’s all about getting creative and telling a story, your story. If you’re new to these accessories and would like a simpler approach to stacking, you can definitely go for layering thinner gold and silver chains with a few charms rather than chunky and bulky necklaces. You don’t have to go completely crazy. It’s all about doing what makes you feel your best. And with this trend, the possibilities are truly endless!
10. Jewelry: Long Earrings
Long earrings are one of my personal favorites of the new fashion accessory trends. I’m seeing so many pendant earrings taken to the extreme this season, reaching the shoulder and beyond, and I am absolutely loving it! The added texture, colors, and shine/sparkle really takes any outfit to the next level. These eye-catching earrings are just so refreshing to see. As much as I adore a basic diamond stud, these beauties are giving your lobes a much-needed bold new fashion update. Give yourself an excuse to wear a cute new updo to showcase your new bold beauties! It is about time for a little ear party fun! Who’s in?!
