Halloween always presents the tricky situation of who or what to be! After all, we only get one spooky day a year to pull off a killer costume. Get inspired for your spooky celebrations with some of our all-time favorite pop culture-inspired and celebrity Halloween costumes!
Ratched
$70.00
Starring Sarah Paulson, the new Netflix TV series Ratched is gearing up to be a hit. Get ahead of the hordes and dress up as the unsettling asylum nurse Mildred. All you’ll need is a whimsical blue nurse scrub dress and cap. For a fun pop of color, wear the brightest red lipstick you can find. If you prefer Mildred from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, opt for white instead.
Carole Baskin & Tiger King “Joe Exotic”
Alright, all you cool cats and kittens! This year for Halloween, we need a duo who are as messy as the year itself. Cue Carole Baskin and her nemesis the Tiger King. You can keep this costume simple with a flower crown and tie-dye shirt for Carole along with a trucker hat and drawn-on mustache for Joe. If you’re going as a couple, you could even switch Carole out for a sexy tiger.
Megan Thee Stallion & Cardi B From “WAP“ Music Video
These two served up several looks, but one scene, in particular, caught our eyes. We’re talking about that sexy python scene. Simply rock a cut-out lingerie onesie and wrangle a python – preferably plastic. Then top it all off with some cute lace-up heels. While this ensemble may have been our favorite, feel free to choose one that you prefer to recreate!
Bob Ross and His Canvas
After the year we’ve had, no one lends a sense of calm like Bob Ross. The iconic art instructor and television host have increased in popularity once again over recent years. All you need to pull this look off is a curly wig, a long sleeve button-down, a paint-covered palette, and an ear-to-ear grin.
Black Panther
A highly relevant costume for the year 2020, we had to mention the Black Panther. This character stands for a lot. First, it is a great way to honor the late Chadwick Boseman, a true fighter and an inspiring actor. It can also be worn as a subtle nod to the Black Panther Party, who originally patrolled African American neighborhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality.
Navarro Cheerleader
Netflix’s Cheer left a lasting impression! The best thing about this costume is that you can finally dress up as a cheerleader, whether or not you were one. There are plenty of places to find a super cute cheer outfit and pom poms. But if needed, you could easily rock a solid-colored top and skirt. The real question is who will you channel? We’re thinking Jerry Harris.
Euphoria
Euphoria-inspired makeup has been the latest trend across every platform, from Instagram to TikTok. And while we’re fans of the show, you don’t have to be to understand why crystal-decorated lids, neon shadow, and graphic eyeliner have become a hit. The best part is that you don’t have to recreate a specific look. The whole point is to come up with one that is entirely your own. But we were able to find one of Maddie’s exact outfits!
Lil Nas X at the Grammy’s
Lil Nas X is known for his bright monochromatic looks. But his hot pink studded cowboy get-up from the Grammys introduced us to a style we never knew we needed: country glam. While your Halloween costume may not be from Versace, you will still feel like you could walk on the runway. Wear any neon color of your choice, throw in some bling, and top it off with a matching hat.
Harley Quinn & The Joker
Baddie couple number one goes to Harley Quinn and the Joker! This duo has long been a fun pair to play for Halloween, and we don’t see that changing anytime soon. Of course, this is partially due to the release of DC movies, such as Suicide Squat and Birds of Prey. But it’s also because it’s just fun to feel bad. For this costume, you’ll want to grab Harley’s Caution Moto Jacket.
The Joker
The newest remake of the character the Joker is debatably one of the scariest yet. Following mentally troubled comedian Arthur Fleck, this psychological thriller is dark in a realistic and relatable way. For this reason, we have no doubt there will be a few people wearing makeup and suits reminiscent of this popular character.
Mr. Rogers
$30.96
Sometimes we need a break from the dark and scary. In that case, we like to channel the beloved Mr. Rogers. This well-known children’s television host and producer brings back a sense of nostalgia and safety that is much needed this year. So throw on your zip-up sweater and step into some cozy loafers before heading out into the neighborhood.
Pilot Pete
If you’re a regular fan of The Bachelor, then you understand when we say that the latest season was a hot mess – one that we couldn’t tear our eyes away from! Hit the town with one person dressed as Pete and a gaggle of eligible bachelorettes under his arm. This costume is perfect for a group – in fact, the more the merrier!
Moira Rose From Schitt’s Creek
Schitt’s Creek recently came to an end, but we’re placing bets that this show will have a lasting impression, especially thanks to the ex-soap-star Moire Rose. Recreate one of her kooky outfits by rocking a look made of solid black and white. We recommend you grab a fun wig and hat if possible.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Pay tribute to the legendary RBG this Halloween! A powerhouse for gender equality and women’s rights, this late justice of the Supreme Court made a mark. Simply wear a black robe and some cool specs. Just don’t forget her signature slicked-back bun and the closest thing you can find to one of her famous collars.
We hope you enjoyed our selection of celebrity Halloween costumes! Halloween is such a fun time, and it is the perfect opportunity to get creative. What costume are you going for this year?
