Makeup Routine
Achieve Naomi, Gigi, or Kendall’s complete look in 4 steps!

The supermodel makeup routine is all about having beautiful, flawless, and sculpted dewy skin. Of course, this is a look that many of us are probably aiming to have, especially if you want to look like that “IT Tabloid girl”. Luckily for you, getting that signature Naomi Campbell look can be a lot easier than you’d think. We’re here to give you our favorite tips and tricks for how to look like a supermodel. Hopefully, these can have you strutting like Kendall in no time.

The first step of the makeup routine, let’s start with skincare

Don’t let those on the cover of Vogue fool you; models have skin problems just like us. Kendall Jenner has opened up before on how she suffered from acne. Remember that they are people just like any of us, and their looks are just as achievable. The supermodel look is about having flawless, airbrushed skin, and the secret to a perfect base lies in how well you take care of your skin. To get that, you can start with a nice dewy moisturizer and weekly exfoliation to make sure your skin is as smooth as possible.

Fresh Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Moisturizer

Fresh is one of the best skincare brands around, so it’s no surprise that they make a phenomenal moisturizer. This moisturizer is formulated with hyaluronic acid, which helps to keep moisture on the skin throughout the day. This is great for creating that nice, skin-like, and dewy appearance that models are so known for once you put on your makeup.

If you tend to have oilier skin, you can still pair this moisturizer with a matte foundation that would help give you that classic 90s and supermodel-like fresh matte skin. In any case, this look is so back in style again.

The Ordinary AHA 30% + PHA 2% Peeling Solution

To get that nice and smooth skin, it’s essential to exfoliate your skin once a week. The Ordinary blows our minds in that they can create a product that’s less than $10 with great ingredients that work well. This is also the key to having a smooth base for your complexion products. Exfoliating can help with acne as well as sweep away dead skin cells; consequently, it’s amazing at keeping the skin looking young and healthy.

Fresh Skin

Getting that supermodel skin is all about having that fresh skin-like makeup. Think of it as your skin but better. If you ever watch the Vogue makeup tutorials with the models, you can see they use very minimal complexion products with just a sweep of powder at most to set it. And if you’re looking for that natural, radiant look, check out these Sephora favorites for a sunkissed glow.

Pat McGrath Labs Sublime Perfection Foundation

Pat McGrath is one of the best makeup artists around, and she has her makeup line. She is known for setting so many fashion trends as well as being a makeup artist for many runway shows. This foundation was tested on models walking down the runway. It gives the skin an amazing skin-like finish and is perfect for photography. There’s no second guessing on what foundation will give you that supermodel look better than one that was tested on supermodels.

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer

We were all shocked that a concealer could have so much coverage but still give a skin-like finish to the face. If you want to have a fresh appearance just like the biggest supermodels, then this is the concealer for you. Add a minimal amount on the high points of your face and evenly blend out with your fingers to give yourself that gorgeous look. It’s still your skin, but this is a big part of the look supermodels are known for!

Bushy Brows

Bushy, feathered brows have become a trend you can see so many models rocking now. Feathering the brows with a brow wax or soap can help lift the features of your face and give you that beautifully sculpted look.

Patrick Ta Major Brow Shaping Wax

Patrick Ta is the makeup artist for many celebs, including supermodel Gigi Hadid. He has his makeup line at Sephora, and it’s safe to say any of his products will give you that gorgeous supermodel look. His shaping wax is perfect at giving you that gorgeous, feathered brow look. It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you have tried it out 2-3 times, you can easily get the hang of it.

Defined Facial Structure

To get that killer Naomi Campbell cheekbones, you’re going to need to contour your face, but remember to aim for a very soft and blended-out approach. Using a cream product will most likely be the best for this type of look. You can even get a darker, cool-toned version of your favorite concealer to achieve this look.

Huda Beauty Tantour Contour & Bronzer Cream

Huda Beauty is usually known for making very full-coverage complexion products, but we were surprised to see what a beautifully natural finish this product gave. It’s so easy to build this product up and get a nice and diffused look. If you want to have that high cheekbone just like Naomi, add this at the high point of your cheekbones near your ear to lift and snatch your face.

Celebrity Makeup Looks

What’s better than our favorite celebrities wearing trendy makeup looks… getting to recreate them ourselves! We’ve got a few celebrities’ makeup looks that we have been obsessed with, along with the beauty products that are key to doing these looks on yourself at home!

Fox Eye

Everyone has been obsessing over the fox eye eyeliner and seeing it on the stunning Vanessa Hudgens makes us love it even more. Her fluffy brows and nude lip give a more natural look, allowing your eyes to focus on the masterpiece we call eyeliner she has. If you want to recreate this look, we have some products to help!

The most important item for this look is eyeliner! There are so many types of eyeliner. The best one is up to your preference, but we have a few to help narrow down the selection. If pencils are your thing, Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil is a fan fave!

On the other hand, liquid liners are easier to get that sharp line. If that’s more your type, we recommend Stila’s Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner.

Smokey Eye Look

Doja Cat never fails to impress with her makeup looks! This classic smokey eye is created with cool-toned greys, topped with a bit of shimmer on the center of the lid for some pop. This look is perfect, especially during the fall, since it is on the darker side. If you want to recreate Doja Cat’s Eye, we have just the palette for you.

ELF’s Everyday Smoky Eyeshadow Palette has all the cool-toned colors your heart desires without costing a fortune! This look is super simple to create. Just blend the dark grey all over your lid and apply some of the shimmers in the center!

Winged Eye

Miss Grande has been on a roll. When she’s not in the studio working on her next banger, she’s in the labs creating a makeup line for all her loyal fans! Graphic eyeliner has been all the rage recently, and Ariana Grande rocked the trend for her REM Beauty campaign.

Makeup Routine
$17

This look features a classic winged eyeliner with her REM Beauty white liner above her lid. To recreate it, you’re going to need a really good white liquid liner.

If you aren’t able to get your hands on Grande’s white liner, our favorite drugstore liner for a fun pop of color is Colourpops BFF Liquid liner, it’s perfect to get a precise line with bold color.

Pop of Color

Gigi Hadid is simple as always but making statements. When you are in a rush, or just aren’t too sure how to do extravagant looks; this pop of color in the inner corner is a lifesaver! You can do this with basically any color to match your outfit, but neon colors tend to make your eyes pop the most!

If you’re looking to recreate the same look Gigi has, try out The Zulu Eyeshadow Palette from Juvia’s Place. It has a bright yellow shade to get Gigi’s look as well as some other fun colors, like a bright teal, to try out!

Ditch the Lipstick

By now you can see the trend that supermodels love to have a natural look, so a lot of them ditch lipstick for a natural-colored lip liner. Simply line your lips to give them a nice plump look and then lightly fill them in. It could be beneficial to remove any makeup, like foundation, that might’ve gotten on your lips while you were getting ready.

Colourpop Lippie Pencil

Colourpop is not only very affordable, but they do create some amazing products. The lippie pencils in the shade’s BFF 1, 2, or 3 are the perfect nude tones to add to create a natural lip color. BFF 1 is the lightest of the shades, and they become gradually deeper. This makes it easy for almost everyone to get a perfect nude shade for their skin tone.

Simply line your lips and lightly fill in the rest. Diffuse the edges and center to give a nice natural finish. If you want to add a little extra pop, you could pop on a lip gloss to the center of the lips.

Diffused Cat Eye

Getting that signature-eye look of any model is so simple. Just take your bronzer and/or blush color and pop it into your crease. Most models drag out their eyeshadow to give them that signature cat-eye look. One thing we love about this is that the diffused-out shadow from your eyes helps shape the top of your cheekbone. This helps you get that beautifully sculpted cheekbone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Powder Bronzer

Anastasia Beverly Hills makes some good contouring powders. Not only can you use this to help sculpt out your face over your cream products, but you can also use it to sculpt out your eye as well. It’s a great way to quickly give yourself dimension.

Better still, it remains natural looking, since you’re using the same tone on so many parts of your face. This is a trick that was learned from Patrick Ta, celebrity makeup artist to supermodel Gigi Hadid. Just take a fluffy eyeshadow brush and run this color in your crease and on your bottom lash line. Whatever is left on the brush can be used to diffuse and drag out the edges to form that beautiful cat eye.

Final Words…

Getting the fierce supermodel look is so much easier than you probably thought. It’s all about enhancing your natural beauty. This looks different on all of us depending on the different concerns you have, but with a little practice, you’ll be looking like the next Cindy Crawford in no time. Another great thing is that some of the top models’ makeup artists, such as Pat McGrath and Patrick Ta, have their makeup lines that are going to help you get those signature makeup looks.

They even upload many tutorials on their Instagram pages to help you learn their tips and tricks. Remember – you too have what it takes to get these looks with the techniques and practice. Soon you’ll be looking just like the girls on the cover of Vogue.
