Here at Successible Life, we post lots of nutritious recipes and often talk about healthy eating. It’s well-known that eating a colorful diet full of fruits and veggies is one of the best things you can do to improve your overall health. But a healthy diet and lifestyle also involve balance. Sometimes, you just can’t eat super healthy and clean foods all the time without feeling deprived, especially around the holidays! Treats and cheat days can also be part of a healthy lifestyle, so you shouldn’t feel too guilty about eating a candy bar or two this Halloween. However, some Halloween candies (especially all-natural, vegan Halloween candy) are simply healthier than others.

Vegan Halloween Candy
When we indulge in a candy bar or a few pieces of licorice, we like to choose natural brands that use real sugar and fruit instead of high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors. That way we can feel better about the ingredients we’re putting in our bodies.
To help you eat a bit healthier this Halloween, we’ve put together this list of our favorite natural and organic candies. There’s lots of vegan Halloween candy on this list PLUS some options for people with special diets, so keep reading!
Justin’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
A new poll by Monmouth University found that Reese’s peanut butter cups are the most popular Halloween candy. We can understand why! They’re rich, creamy, delightfully sweet, and a little salty. But if you can’t eat dairy or you’re just trying to eat a little healthier, you may want to swap out your beloved Reese’s cups for Justin’s.
Justin’s peanut butter cups are made with organic, sustainably sourced dark chocolate, which is healthier than the milk chocolate in Reese’s. Dark chocolate has fewer carbs and fat and more antioxidants than milk chocolate and may even decrease your blood pressure. Justin’s cups also have less sugar than Reese’s and are free from partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, which have been shown to raise cholesterol levels. Plus they’re vegan, gluten-free, and taste just as good as Reese’s cups. There’s no reason not to make the switch!
UNREAL Dark Chocolate Crispy Quinoa Gems
According to Monmouth University, M&M’s are the third most popular Halloween candy, but they aren’t the healthiest choice! They contain artificial flavors and dyes such as Yellow 5 and Red 40, which can cause irritability, difficulty sleeping, and restlessness, especially in kids. So M&M’s are probably not what you want to be feeding your family this Halloween!
Luckily, there’s a better option — these all-natural dark chocolate quinoa gems. They’re colored with healthy superfood ingredients like beet juice and spirulina instead of artificial dyes. They’re also certified vegan and made from fair trade ingredients, so they’re good for you and the planet. Plus, they taste great! They have a sweet, crunchy outer coating along with dark chocolate and a crispy quinoa center that adds an extra layer of crunch. We think they’re even better than M&M’s!
Eating Evolved Organic Coconut Butter Cups, Caramel, and Sea Salt Flavor
Vegans, paleo dieters, and people with allergies to soy, dairy, and gluten can all enjoy these decadent caramel coconut cups! They contain a handful of healthy, organic ingredients — coconut, cacao, coconut sugar, cacao butter, and Himalayan sea salt.
We were especially happy to see superfoods like coconut and cacao, which are both great sources of antioxidants, on the list. Coconut sugar is another standout ingredient. It’s a healthier alternative to the regular cane sugar that’s in most vegan Halloween candy. Coconut sugar doesn’t raise your blood sugar levels as much as cane sugar, so it won’t give you that dreaded sugar crash a few hours after eating it. And best of all, each coconut butter cup only has four grams of sugar, which is low for candy.
Even though these coconut butter cups don’t have much sugar, they still taste incredible. If you don’t like coconut, you may not like them. But if you’re a coconut fan, they might just become your new favorite candy! They have a rich, creamy coconut flavor with just a hint of sea salt and caramel that offsets the coconut nicely. You won’t want to stop eating them, so it’s a good thing they only come in packs of two!
SmartSweets Peach Rings Sour Gummy Candy
Peach rings were a personal favorite candy for many of us growing up. But now that we know how many artificial colors and flavors they contain, we can’t enjoy them as much. We’d prefer desserts that get their delicious flavor from natural ingredients, not artificial ones.
Enter these chewy fruit candies from the SmartSweets company! All of their colors and flavors are either natural or organic — there are no artificial ingredients anywhere on the ingredients list. They’re colored with healthy superfoods like beet juice and organic curcumin, the compound that makes turmeric yellow, so you can feel good about eating them. A low sugar content compared to regular candies on the market, and the perfect way to satisfy the craving for chewy, fruity candy.
Cocomels Coconut Milk Caramels
These coconut milk caramels prove that vegan Halloween candy can taste just as good as the real thing! They don’t have any cream or butter in them like traditional caramels, but they still taste buttery smooth and melt in your mouth. Plus, they’re a lot healthier than the regular caramels you can get at the grocery store. They use coconut sugar instead of cane sugar, so you won’t get a big blood sugar spike from eating them. They also don’t contain high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated vegetable oils, genetically modified ingredients, and artificial flavors, so they’re a much better choice than most caramel candies we’ve come across.
Wiley Wallaby Watermelon Licorice
These raspberry licorice chews are a lot like Twizzlers but without all the artificial flavors and dyes. They’re made with real raspberry fruit puree and molasses. This is a healthier alternative to regular sugar because it contains more nutrients. Molasses has important minerals such as potassium, calcium, copper, iron, and more. Remember, though: molasses is still sugar, so you should only eat it and this licorice chews in moderation!
No Whey Foods – Choco No No’s Minis and Chocolatey
No Whey Foods makes the best allergy-friendly, vegan Halloween candy! These caramel and nougat bars taste just like Snickers and satisfy our cravings for a sticky sweet candy bar. But unlike Snickers, they don’t have peanuts or any of the eight most common food allergens, so everyone can enjoy them!
These candy bars are also a great option if you’re trying to eat a bit healthier this Halloween. They don’t have any artificial colors or flavors as conventional candy bars do. They also come in a mini size that helps with portion control, so they won’t throw off your diet.

Our Thoughts
Even though candy is technically junk food, it can still be a part of a healthy lifestyle. As long as you eat balanced meals most of the time, slipping in a candy bar here or there won’t ruin your diet. And the healthier or vegan Halloween candies on this list are simply better choices. So if you want to treat yourself to something sweet this Halloween, do it!
