Juvia’s Place

First off, Juvia’s Place is a revolutionary brand. This is an absolute favorite of beauty influencers on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram. This brand provides high-quality products and affordable prices. They have everything from natural to bold eyeshadow palettes, stunning highlighters, and a foundation rated 4.5 stars that come in 42 (yes, 42) different shades.

Their eye shadows are known for being some of the most pigmented products in the beauty market, and with the diversity in foundation and concealer shades, they are one of the best brands for people of color.

Kreyol Essence

Kreyol Essence is a black-owned business that had been gaining lots of attention, and it’s easy to see why. This brand specializes in hair care and skin products that use sustainably and ethically sourced Haitian black castor oil. This oil is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, omega 6 and 9, and a myriad of fatty acids.

According to Kreyol Essence, this means that their products can carry moisture to the hair, skin, and body, not only protecting them but healing them as well. And with an average product score of 4.5 stars, the results speak for themselves.

Briogeo

If you have hair, Briogeo has hair care products for you. This brand is dedicated to making amazing, natural, and effective hair care products for every hair type.

All of their formulas are free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, phthalates, and synthetic colors. What does this mean, you might ask? It means that these are some of the best hair care products on the market (an average of 4.7 stars on their products)!

In addition, all of their formulas are cruelty-free and gluten-free, and many of them are vegan! So no matter what you’re looking for, Briogeo has products for you.

Uoma

If you love makeup, you will love Uoma. Uoma is a newer black-owned business, but don’t think that that means they aren’t one of the best brands out there. Having only started in 2018, the brand has already been recognized by Allure with 2020 Best of Beauty Award, and it’s easy to see why.

Similar to Juvia’s Place, they appeal to all people of color due to their large shade range. Their Say What?! Foundation has 51 different shades, and with at least 4 stars, their customers are here for it.

No matter your skin color, makeup style, or experience level with makeup, Uoma is guaranteed to provide pigmented shades and amazing products across the board.

Pattern

Juvia's Place

Finally, our last brand is Pattern. If you have curly hair, you need to try Pattern’s products. Their products are made specifically for the curly hair community, and they are dedicated to providing affordable (and effective) hair care with high-quality ingredients.

From shampoo and conditioners to brushes, combs, and scrunchies, they have everything someone with curly hair may need. Even better, they have an option on their website where you can tell them your hair type (tight, coily, curly, locks, etc.) and texture, and they will be able to recommend the best products for your hair.

While this brand serves all curly hair types, overall they are especially known for helping people of color (and more specifically, the black community) in caring for their natural hair. And based on their reviews (average of 4.5 stars) all-in-all, we would have to say they’re pretty successful!
