Stuck at home and missing your regular social or happy hour? Why not take the fun and games online for the time being? Today we are sharing some fun online game ideas that you can play on Zoom – all from the comfort and safety of your very own couch! Check them out and be sure to let us know which ones are your favorites!
All Bad Cards
An adult game with a family-friendly version available, All Bad Cards is essentially an online version of Cards Against Humanity. In order to play, you simply create a new game and invite your friends. Once everyone is in the game, each person will take turns drawing a card, while others choose a witty response from their own hand. The person who drew the prompt will choose the card that they found to be the most entertaining. If your response is chosen, you get a point! The person with the most points at the end is the winner.
Charades
Charades is a basic game that is especially fun for kids and easy to play on Zoom. To start, split your group into two teams and use a charades idea generator for help if you need it. We find it easier if you choose one category. Also, the person who is acting out the charade can use the Zoom “spotlight” feature so that everyone can see them more easily. Then their team will have one minute to guess what is going on!
Scattegories
The classic game night favorite is now available online! To play Scattegories on Zoom, set up a game and send a link to all the players to join. You will start by choosing from a list of provided topics. If you’re the last person standing with words to add to the category, you win!
Pictionary
To play Pictionary online, start by dividing your group into teams. Choose a team to play first as well as a designated drawer on that team. The drawer will then choose a word and has one minute to draw that word for their team to guess. If the team guesses the card correctly, they get a point! If you need help coming up with a word, we recommend using this Pictionary word generator.
Most Likely To…
In this game, you and your friends choose who is most likely to do something. You can have one host or allow each person to take a turn to come up with a scenario. Try to come up with questions based on the participants and common activities, hobbies, and interests. Everyone then votes on a person in the group who is Most Likely To…. You can also make this into a drinking game by having the person with the most votes drink. This game is a hilarious way to see what your friends think of you!
Bingo
Bingo is a super casual and fun game to play, even on Zoom. You can play it virtually by sharing your screen or doing it the old-fashioned way. If you are playing with a group of adults, be sure to encourage everyone to grab a drink.
Trivia
Trivia is a fun and educational way to hangout with friends, especially with a drink in hand. Even better, you’ll be more prepared for when the bars re-open and start hosting trivia night again. Use this random trivia generator to start asking questions! Have your friends lock in their answers via the Zoom chat.
Playing Cards
PlayingGames.io is the place to go to play all of your favorite card and tabletop games, including Checkers, Go Fish, Crazy Eights, and more! Simply select a card game and invite as many people as you want to your link. Best of all, it doesn’t require screen sharing!
Outburst
In order to play, you will split all the players on your call into two teams and pick a host. This timed board game requires each player to write as many items down that apply to a certain category. The more you have that are on the game host’s list, the more points you get!
Taboo
If you love Taboo, why not play it virtually? You will start by dividing your Zoom party into two teams. Each team will take turns sharing screens and choosing someone each round to be clue-giver. This person will help their team guess the main word by using one word at a time or by picking two words total from the list. Just be careful not to say anything over Zoom except the words on your list!
Psych
In order to play Psych, everyone in your party will first have to download the app onto their personal device. Once installed, each player will make up fake answers to real trivia questions. Then everyone will attempt to figure out the real answer. See if you can outwit your friends!
Skribbl
Playing Skribbl will require you to have some creativity! Create a private room with your party and have one person choose a word from the list provided. That person will then try to create a masterpiece in 80 seconds. As they sketch, the other players will type in what they think is being drawn. The quicker a person guesses correctly, the more points they win!
Never Have I Ever
If your group of friends love to gossip, they’ll love Never Have I Ever. Everyone raises both hands, and each person takes a turn saying something that they have never done. If a person has done that thing, they put a finger down. There is no real winner or loser in this game, but it is a whole lot of fun to learn about the interesting things your friends have done.
Two Truths & A Lie
For Two Truths & A Lie, a player has to make up three statements about themselves. Two are the truth, and one is a lie. Then everyone in the group tries to guess which statement is a lie. At the end of the round, the player reveals which sentence was a lie. If you want to make this a drinking game, have everyone who guessed wrong take a drink.
Drunk Pirate
A free online drinking game, Drunk Pirate is more fun with the more players you have. This super silly game requires one person in the party to share their screen. Once everyone is added to the game, it will generate a task for everyone to do. The last player to complete the task has to drink!
Werewolf Online
Werewolf Online is a great game for large groups to play. As in the party game Mafia, each player is assigned specific roles and has to figure out who among them is a “werewolf”. Meanwhile, the werewolves have to deceive other players to avoid capture. This game has to be played from your phone, which means one person will have to be the main host and control the game.
And that’s our list! Did you have a favorite? Were there any variations or unexpected surprises that you saw happen? Let us know how it ended up!
