When it comes to celebrities launching their beauty lines, we’re all rolling our eyes. They’re usually unsuccessful (sorry, not sorry), and they tend to use their already established fan base to make sales. However, the beauty community seems to be super critical of any celeb trying to join the makeup or skincare game.
One celebrity stands out and impresses us with everything she does: the one and only, Riri. Rihanna not only amazed us with her beauty line, Fenty Beauty, but she also dominated the industry when she recently dropped her skincare line, Fenty Skin.
I was one of those people waiting impatiently to make my purchase while the site crashed more times than I remember (I was eventually successful). Yes, this is how popular her launch was. With all the anticipation, marketing, and promotions, Rihanna kept us eager to see what her new line was all about.
After opening up about her struggle to find a skincare routine that works for her, we all relate with Riri and were encouraged to see what she had come up with.
The Package
I received my beautifully packaged Fenty a few days later, and I gotta say, the product aesthetic caught my eye. The colors, the way the bottles open and twist, and the refill option for the moisturizer/sunscreen impressed me.
The Products
First of all, Fenty Skin stands out because the line is for both men and women. We tried their OG products at the time of launch, which included:
- The Total Cleanser Remove it All Cleanser
- The Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum
- The Hydra Visor Invisible Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Sunscreen
The Total Cleanser Remove it All Cleanser is step 1 in your skincare routine. I love this cleanser because it is also a makeup remover. I’ve used it with and without makeup, when I wake up, and before I go to sleep; each time, I was very impressed my skin usually dries up after I cleanse it, but this product left my skin smooth and happy.
Step 2 is the Fat Water Pore-Refining Toner Serum. Every time I apply this serum, my skin feels so refreshed and clean. There’s something about it that just makes me feel like I’m glowing. I usually use it twice a day.
The last and best step is the 2-in-1 moisturizer and sunscreen, my personal favorite. I am someone who loves being outdoors and being exposed to the sun. My skin always suffers from dehydration after a long day at the pool. So this moisturizer was a godsend to me by Riri! Not only does it smell good, but it also hydrates my skin so well and reduces pores. The best part is that it’s not greasy and is invisible.
The Bottom Line
When I saw people go crazy after finding out that Rihanna is launching her skincare line, I wasn’t sure what to expect. After all, the products sold out in just a few hours, and Rihanna is one of the biggest superstars around. Therefore, I almost expected that her line was overhyped.
However, whether we think it’s her fame or not, we have to admit that Rihanna knows what she’s doing. From being eco-friendly to having amazing aesthetics, her skincare line is the perfect package and certainly worth a try. I also found her products to be very affordable and cost-effective. My skin feels amazing and fresh after Fenty Skin. I will make it a staple for my skincare routine and needs.
